Sanction of the Bodhisattva Vows

After the Bodhisattva received the precepts, for many lifetimes and kalpas, they practiced accordingly to the Bodhisattva's teachings. He has generated bodhicitta, and he loves others above himself. He does not have a single thought of harming any being.
When encountering a situation where killing is the only method to save other sentient beings, the Bodhisattva is sanctioned in order to benefit others — this is sanctioned by Buddha.
