【When those who are currently cultivating nonvirtue die, they experience signs foretelling the effects of the nonvirtue they have engaged in. As if in a nightmare, many unpleasant images appear to them. They seem to pass from light to darkness.】

If you have cultivated nonvirtue, then as you "die," you would "experience signs foretelling the effects of the nonvirtue you have engaged." That is, the effects from this nonvirtuous karma will come! "Signs foretelling the effects," that is prior to the effects taking place, at the moment of death, eh, you will have to experience these things. It would be like in a nightmare, there will be "many unpleasant images." Also, you would seem to pass from light to darkness.

【造不善业当死之时，现受先造不善业果，所有前相，谓如梦中多怪色相，于彼显现，如从光明趣向闇处。】

如果说你造了恶业，那么到“当死”的时候，这个“现受先造”这个不善业的果，就是来了！这个“前相”呢，就是这个果还没有感得的时候，就是临终的时候，欸，你就会得感到，像梦当中现出很多“怪色相”，同时像从光明地方趣向黑暗。"
